Emily has the experience you need to get the results you deserve. For over 15 years, Emily has worked as a paralegal. In that time, she has helped new lawyers in North Alabama open their law practices. She has helped state wide law practices grow and expand their areas of practice. Now, in October 2019, Emily launched her very own practice, right here in beautiful Athens, AL. Emily practices in the following areas: Adoptions, Bankruptcy, Estates, Social Security, Wills, and Guardianships.
Growing up, Emily Geary always knew that someday she would become a lawyer. Being the youngest of eight children, she learned early in life to argue with the best of them.
Emily also loves children. After graduating from Muhlenberg North High School, in 1998, she enrolled in Madisonville Community College and in 2000 earned her Associates Degree in Science, with honors. Emily then transferred to Murray State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, with honors, in 2003.
Emily is originally from Muhlenberg County in Kentucky. Emily and her husband Brian relocated to Athens, AL in 2009. Shortly after their move, Emily began attending Birmingham School of Law. In law school, Emily took classes all day on Saturday while working a full-time job in a firm that concentrated on Social Security and Bankruptcy. Emily graduated from Birmingham School of Law in 2014.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She loves working on the family farm and spoils her goats every chance she gets. Emily is also an active member of Blackburn Road Baptist Church where she teaches Sunday school of all ages.
